K2-192 b: A Super-Earth in a Close Orbit

K2-192 is a star located 723 light-years away. It has a mass of 0.9 solar masses, a radius of 0.81 solar radii, and a temperature of 5220 K. One planet orbits this host: K2-192 b. The star's reported mass estimate is smaller than the Sun's, and its radius estimate is also smaller than the Sun's. Its temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

K2-192 b is a Super-Earth discovered by the transit method in 2018. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. The planet's orbital period is 4.16 days, and its radius is 1.52 Earth radii. This radius is larger than Earth's.
