K2-175 is a star located 806 light-years away. It has a mass of 1.08 solar masses, a radius of 1.67 solar radii, and a temperature of 5930 K. Its radius is larger than the Sun's, and its temperature is also hotter than the Sun's. One planet is known to orbit this star.
That planet, K2-175 b, is a Super-Earth. This size class reaches up to 2.5 times Earth's radius. K2-175 b has a radius of 2.04 Earth radii, making it larger than Earth. It was discovered in 2018 by the transit method, in which a planet passing in front of its star from our viewpoint causes a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods, and K2-175 b completes one orbit every 9.53 days.
