K2-154: A Nearby M-Dwarf with Two Super-Earths

K2-154 is a small, cool red dwarf of spectral type M0.0 V, located 422 light-years away. Its reported mass estimate is 0.672 solar masses, its reported radius estimate is 0.649 solar radii, and its reported temperature is 3980 K, all smaller or cooler than the corresponding values for the Sun. Two planets are known to orbit this star.

Both planets are classed as Super-Earths, meaning their radii fall within 2.5 times Earth's radius, and both were discovered by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. K2-154 b orbits every 3.68 days and has a reported radius estimate of 1.99 Earth radii. K2-154 c orbits every 7.95 days and has a reported radius estimate of 2.07 Earth radii.

The radii of both planets are larger than Earth's. Among the listed planets, K2-154 b has the shortest year by reported estimates, at 3.68 days, while K2-154 c has the longest, at 7.95 days. K2-154 b also has the smallest radius among the listed planets by reported estimates, while K2-154 c has the largest.
