K2-111: A Sun-Like Star and Its Two Known Planets

K2-111 is a G2 star located 654 light-years away, with an age of 10.8 billion years. Its mass is 0.88 solar masses and its radius is 1.23 solar radii, while its temperature is 5730 K. Two planets are known to orbit this star.

K2-111 b is a Super-Earth discovered by transit in 2017. Its mass is 5.35 Earth masses and its radius is 1.84 Earth radii, both larger than Earth's corresponding values. Its mean density is 4.76 g/cm³, 0.863 times Earth's. It completes an orbit every 5.35 days.

K2-111 c was discovered by radial velocity in 2020, a method that detects the wobble a planet's gravity induces in its star's motion. Its minimum mass is 11.1 Earth masses, larger than Earth's, and its orbital period is 15.7 days. Among the listed planets, K2-111 b has the shortest year and K2-111 c the longest.
