HD 99283 is a K-type giant star 362 light-years from Earth. Its spectral type is K0 III, its temperature is 4890 K, and it is cooler than the Sun. With 1.76 solar masses and 11.2 solar radii, it is larger than the Sun in both mass and radius. A single planet is known to orbit it.
That planet is HD 99283 b, discovered in 2021 by the radial velocity method, which detects the wobble a planet's gravity induces in its star's motion. Its minimum mass is 308 Earth masses, a lower bound on its true mass and larger than Earth's. It completes one orbit every 310 days.
