HD 6434 and Its Lone Known Planet

HD 6434 is a G0 star located 138 light-years away. Its reported mass is 0.75 solar masses, its radius is 1.09 solar radii, and its temperature is 5740 K. The star's reported mass estimate is smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's. A reported lower limit places its age at 13 billion years.

One planet orbits this host. HD 6434 b was found in 2003 by the radial velocity method, which detects the wobble a planet's gravity induces in its star's motion; repeated wobbles reveal the planet and its orbital period. The planet's minimum mass is 156 Earth masses, larger than Earth's, and its orbital period is 22 days.
