HD 32518 and Its Single Known Planet

HD 32518 is a K1 III star located 398 light-years away, with one planet known to orbit it. The star is 5.83 billion years old, holds 1.13 solar masses, spans 10.2 solar radii, and has a temperature of 4580 K. Its radius is larger than the Sun's, while its temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

The sole planet, HD 32518 b, was found in 2009 by the radial velocity method, which detects the wobble a planet's gravity induces in its star's motion. It completes an orbit in 157 days. Its minimum mass, a lower bound on its true mass, is 905 Earth masses, larger than Earth's and roughly 2.85 times Jupiter's mass.
