HD 21411 and Its Planet

HD 21411 is a G8 V star 95 light-years away, a Sun-like dwarf with one known planet. Its spectral type marks it as a main-sequence star, and its temperature of 5470 K is cooler than the Sun's. The star's reported radius estimate of 0.826 solar radii is smaller than the Sun's, while its mass of 0.96 solar masses is close to the Sun's.

The single planet, HD 21411 b, was discovered in 2019 by the radial velocity method, which measures the wobble a planet's gravity induces in its star's motion; repeated wobbles reveal the planet and its orbital period. HD 21411 b completes an orbit in 84.3 days. Its minimum mass is 65.9 Earth masses, a lower bound on its true mass, and this minimum mass is larger than Earth's.
