HD 195019 and Its Planet

HD 195019 is a star 123 light-years away with a spectral type of G3 V/IV. Its measured age is 8.5 billion years, its mass is 1.05 solar masses, its radius is 1.48 solar radii, and its temperature is 5740 K. The star's reported radius estimate is larger than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's. One planet is known to orbit this host.

That planet, HD 195019 b, was discovered in 1998 by the radial velocity method, which detects the wobble a planet's gravity induces in its star's motion; repeated wobbles reveal the planet and its orbital period. Its minimum mass is 1260 Earth masses, a lower bound on its true mass that is larger than Earth's and roughly 3.98 times Jupiter's mass. HD 195019 b completes each orbit in 18.2 days.
