HD 18015 and Its Lone Known Planet

HD 18015 is a star 404 light-years away with a spectral type of G6 IV. Its reported mass estimate is 1.5 solar masses, larger than the Sun's, while its reported temperature of 5640 K is cooler than the Sun's. One planet is known to orbit this host.

That planet, HD 18015 b, was discovered in 2018 by the radial velocity method, which measures the wobble a planet's gravity induces in its star's motion; repeated wobbles reveal the planet and its orbital period. HD 18015 b has a minimum mass of 1010 Earth masses and an orbital period of 2280 days. Its minimum mass is larger than Earth's and roughly 3.18 times Jupiter's mass.
