HD 132406 and Its Planet

HD 132406 is a G0 V star, a Sun-like main-sequence dwarf, located 231 light-years away. The star is 7.19 billion years old and has a mass of 1.05 solar masses, a radius of 1.25 solar radii, and a temperature of 5770 K. One planet orbits this host.

HD 132406 b was discovered in 2007 by the radial velocity method, which measures the wobble a planet's gravity induces in its star's motion. The planet has a mass of 1890 Earth masses and an orbital period of 908 days. Its mass is roughly 5.94 times Jupiter's mass and larger than Earth's. The star's mass and radius are both larger than the Sun's.
