HD 126525 and Its Lone Known Planet

HD 126525 is a G-type dwarf star, a Sun-like class of star, located 123 light-years away. It is cooler than the Sun, with a temperature of 5640 K, and its reported mass estimate is 0.897 solar masses, smaller than the Sun's. The star's radius is 0.979 solar radii, and its age is 9.67 billion years. One planet has been found orbiting this host.

That planet is HD 126525 b, discovered in 2018 by the radial velocity method, which detects the wobble a planet's gravity induces in its star's motion. Its minimum mass is 75.3 Earth masses, larger than Earth's, and its orbital period is 960 days. The minimum mass is a lower bound on the planet's true mass rather than an exact value.
