HATS-47 is a star located 981 light-years away, and it hosts one known planet. The star is estimated to be 8.1 billion years old, with a mass of 0.674 solar masses and a radius of 0.656 solar radii. Its temperature is 4510 K. Each of these values is smaller or cooler than the corresponding value for the Sun.
The sole known planet is HATS-47 b, a Jupiter-like world discovered by the transit method in 2020. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. HATS-47 b has a mass of 117 Earth masses and a radius of 12.5 Earth radii, both larger than Earth's. Its mean density is 0.329 g/cm³, 0.0598 times Earth's. The planet completes an orbit in 3.92 days.
