HATS-45 is a star 2520 light-years away with an age of 1.52 billion years, a mass of 1.27 solar masses, a radius of 1.32 solar radii, and a temperature of 6450 K. Its reported mass estimate is larger than the Sun's, its radius estimate is also larger, and its temperature is hotter. One planet orbits this host.
That planet, HATS-45 b, is a Jupiter-like world discovered by transit in 2018. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. HATS-45 b has a mass of 222 Earth masses, a radius of 14.4 Earth radii, and an orbital period of 4.19 days. Its radius and mass estimates are both larger than Earth's, and its mean density is 0.409 g/cm³, 0.0743 times Earth's.
