HATS-36 and Its Jupiter-like Planet

HATS-36 is a G0 V star located 2790 light-years away. Its spectral type marks it as a Sun-like, main-sequence dwarf. Its age is 0.62 billion years. Its reported mass estimate is 1.22 solar masses, larger than the Sun's, and its reported radius estimate is 1.16 solar radii, also larger than the Sun's. The star's reported temperature of 6150 K is hotter than the Sun's. One planet is known to orbit this star.

HATS-36 b is a Jupiter-like planet discovered in 2018 by the transit method, in which a planet passing in front of its star from our viewpoint causes a small dip in observed brightness, and repeated dips help establish orbital periods. It orbits every 4.18 days and has a radius of 12.9 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's.
