HATS-2 and Its Jupiter-Like Planet

HATS-2 is a K-type star 1120 light-years away. Its mass is 0.882 solar masses, its radius is 0.898 solar radii, its temperature is 5230 K, and its age is 9.7 billion years. The star's reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's. One planet orbits it.

HATS-2 b is a Jupiter-like planet discovered by transit in 2013. Its radius is 12.6 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and its mass is 435 Earth masses, also larger than Earth's and roughly 1.37 times Jupiter's mass. It completes an orbit every 1.35 days. Its mean density is 1.21 g/cm³, 0.219 times Earth's.
