HAT-P-4 and Its Jupiter-like Planet

HAT-P-4 is a star 1050 light-years away with a spectral type of G1 V, a Sun-like, main-sequence dwarf. It has an age of 4.2 billion years, a mass of 1.26 solar masses, a radius of 1.59 solar radii, and a temperature of 5860 K. Its reported mass, radius, and temperature estimates are all larger or hotter than the Sun's. One planet is known to orbit this host.

That planet, HAT-P-4 b, is a Jupiter-like world discovered by transit in 2007. It has a mass of 213 Earth masses, a radius of 14.3 Earth radii, and an orbital period of 3.06 days. Its reported radius and mass estimates are both larger than Earth's. With a mean density of 0.404 g/cm³, it is 0.0732 times as dense as Earth.
