Planet HAT-P-29 b: A Jupiter-Like World in a Two-Star System

HAT-P-29 is an F8 star located 1020 light-years away. The star is 2.2 billion years old, has a mass of 1.21 solar masses, a radius of 1.22 solar radii, and a temperature of 6090 K. The star's reported mass and radius estimates are larger than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is hotter than the Sun's. HAT-P-29 hosts one known planet.

That planet is HAT-P-29 b, a Jupiter-like world discovered by the transit method in 2011. It is a transiting planet with a mass of 280 Earth masses, which is larger than Earth's, and a radius of 13.1 Earth radii, also larger than Earth's. Its mean density is 0.683 g/cm³, 0.124 times Earth's. HAT-P-29 b completes each orbit in 5.72 days.
