GJ 3634 is an M2.5 star 66.5 light-years away with one known planet. Its spectral type marks it as an M-type dwarf, a small, cool red dwarf. The star is 5 billion years old, with a mass of 0.45 solar masses and a radius of 0.43 solar radii. Both its reported mass estimate and its reported radius estimate are smaller than the Sun's.
The planet, GJ 3634 b, was discovered in 2010 by the radial velocity method, which measures the wobble a planet's gravity induces in its star's motion; repeated wobbles reveal the planet and its orbital period. GJ 3634 b has a mass of 8.4 Earth masses, larger than Earth's, and an orbital period of 2.65 days.
