GJ 3082 is a small, cool red dwarf of spectral type M4, located 54.2 light-years away. The star's reported mass estimate is smaller than the Sun's, at 0.463 solar masses, and its reported radius estimate is also smaller than the Sun's, at 0.465 solar radii. Its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's, at 3650 K. One planet is known to orbit this host.
That planet, GJ 3082 b, was discovered in 2020 using the radial velocity method, which measures the wobble a planet's gravity induces in its star's motion. Its minimum mass is 8.2 Earth masses, larger than Earth's, meaning its true mass is at least this value. It completes one orbit every 11.9 days.
