GJ 1252 is an M3 star located 66.4 light-years from Earth. As an M-type star, it is a small, cool red dwarf. Its mass is 0.381 solar masses, its radius is 0.391 solar radii, and its temperature is 3460 K - all smaller or cooler than the Sun's corresponding values. One known planet orbits this star.
That planet, GJ 1252 b, is an Earth-like world discovered by the transit method in 2020. During a transit, the planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. GJ 1252 b has a radius of 1.19 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and a mass of 1.32 Earth masses, also larger than Earth's. Its orbital period is just 0.518 days. The planet's mean density is 4.28 g/cm³, which is 0.777 times Earth's.
