G 192-15: A Nearby Red Dwarf and Its Two Known Planets

G 192-15 is an M5.0 V star, making it a small, cool red dwarf, located 31.1 light-years away. Its mass is 0.141 solar masses, its radius is 0.171 solar radii, and its temperature is 3000 K, all smaller or cooler than the Sun's corresponding values. Two planets are known to orbit this star, both discovered in 2025 by the radial velocity method, which detects the wobble a planet's gravity induces in its star's motion.

G 192-15 b has a minimum mass of 1.03 Earth masses, a lower bound on its true mass, and an orbital period of 2.27 days, the shortest year among the listed planets. G 192-15 c has a minimum mass of 14.3 Earth masses, larger than Earth's, and an orbital period of 1220 days, the longest year among the listed planets. Its minimum mass is also the largest among the listed planets, while G 192-15 b's is the smallest.
