CoRoT-11 and Its Jupiter-Like Planet

CoRoT-11 is a star 2140 light-years away with a spectral type of F6 V, an F-type main-sequence dwarf. It is 2 billion years old and has a mass of 1.27 solar masses, a radius of 1.37 solar radii, and a temperature of 6440 K. Each of these reported estimates is larger or hotter than the corresponding value for the Sun. One planet orbits this host.

That planet is CoRoT-11 b, a Jupiter-like world discovered by transit in 2010. Its radius of 16 Earth radii is larger than Earth's, and its mass of 741 Earth masses is also larger than Earth's and roughly 2.33 times Jupiter's mass. Its mean density is 0.991 g/cm³, 0.18 times Earth's. CoRoT-11 b completes an orbit in 2.99 days.
