91 Aqr: A K-Type Giant and Its Minimum-Mass Planet

The star 91 Aqr lies 144 light-years away and has a mass of 1.4 solar masses, a radius of 11 solar radii, a temperature of 4670 K, and an age of 3.56 billion years. Its spectral type, K0 III, marks it as a cool giant. One planet orbits this host: 91 Aqr b, discovered in 2013 by the radial velocity method, which detects the wobble a planet's gravity induces in its star. The planet's minimum mass, a lower bound on its true mass, is 1020 Earth masses, roughly 3.2 times Jupiter's mass. It completes one orbit in 181 days.
