WASP-81 is a star 1300 light-years away with one known planet. The host star has a mass of 1.08 solar masses, a radius of 1.28 solar radii, and a temperature of 5870 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are both larger than the Sun's.
The only planet known to orbit WASP-81 is WASP-81 b, a Jupiter-like world discovered by transit in 2017. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. WASP-81 b has a mass of 232 Earth masses and a radius of 16 Earth radii, both larger than Earth's. Its orbital period is 2.72 days. Its mean density is 0.311 g/cm³, 0.0564 times Earth's.
