WASP-46 and Its Jupiter-Like Planet

WASP-46 is a G6 V star located 1220 light-years away. This Sun-like main-sequence dwarf has a mass of 0.828 solar masses and a radius of 0.858 solar radii. Its temperature is 5600 K, and it is 9.6 billion years old. Both its mass and radius are smaller than the Sun's, and its temperature is cooler.

One planet orbits WASP-46: WASP-46 b, a Jupiter-like world discovered by transit in 2011. Its radius of 13.2 Earth radii is larger than Earth's, while its mass of 607 Earth masses is larger than Earth's and roughly 1.91 times Jupiter's mass. WASP-46 b completes an orbit every 1.43 days. Its mean density is 1.47 g/cm³, 0.266 times Earth's.
