WASP-136 b: A Jupiter-Like World Orbiting a Hotter Star

WASP-136 is a single star located 899 light-years away, with a spectral type of F. The star is 1.41 solar masses, making it more massive than the Sun, and its radius of 2.2 solar radii is larger than the Sun's. This star has an age of 3.62 billion years and a temperature of 6250 K, which is hotter than the Sun.

The planet orbiting this host, WASP-136 b, was discovered by the transit method in 2016. With a radius of 16.8 Earth radii, this planet fits within the Jupiter-like classification, since such planets exceed 4 times Earth's radius. The reported radius estimate is larger than Earth's. No orbital period is reported for WASP-136 b.
