TOI-622 is a single star 402 light-years away, with a spectral type of F6 V that marks it as a main-sequence dwarf hotter than the Sun. Its temperature of 6400 K is hotter than the Sun's, and it is both more massive and larger, at 1.31 solar masses and 1.42 solar radii. Its age is 0.9 billion years.
One planet orbits this host. TOI-622 b was discovered in 2023 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish the orbital period. That period is 6.4 days. The planet is Jupiter-like in size class, meaning its radius exceeds four times Earth's, and its measured radius of 9.24 Earth radii is larger than Earth's. Its mass estimate of 96.3 Earth masses is likewise larger than Earth's, and its mean density is 0.673 g/cm³, 0.122 times Earth's.
