TOI-620 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

TOI-620 is an M2.5 V star, a small, cool red dwarf, located 108 light-years away. Its measured mass is 0.577 solar masses and its radius is 0.55 solar radii, both smaller than the Sun's. It is 7.2 billion years old and has a temperature of 3710 K, cooler than the Sun's. One planet is known to orbit this host.

That planet, TOI-620 b, is Neptune-like and was discovered in 2022 by the transit method, in which a planet passing in front of its star from our viewpoint causes a small dip in observed brightness. Its orbital period is 5.1 days. TOI-620 b has a radius of 3.76 Earth radii, larger than Earth's and within the Neptune-like size class, which extends to 4 times Earth's radius.
