TOI-5726 and Its Neptune-like Planet

TOI-5726 is a star 355 light-years from Earth, with a reported mass of 1.06 solar masses and a radius of 1.11 solar radii, slightly larger than the Sun. Its temperature is 5870 K. One known planet orbits this star.

That planet, TOI-5726.01, is Neptune-like, a size class that reaches four times Earth's radius. Its radius is 2.55 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. It was discovered in 2024 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. TOI-5726.01 completes one orbit every 5.49 days.
