TOI-512 b: A Super-Earth in a Close Orbit

TOI-512 is a star 220 light-years away with one known planet. The star is estimated to be 8.24 billion years old, with a mass of 0.74 solar masses and a radius of 0.89 solar radii. Its temperature is 5280 K, cooler than the Sun, and its reported mass and radius estimates are both smaller than the Sun's.

The planet, TOI-512 b, was discovered by transit in 2025. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. The planet's radius is 1.54 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and its mass is 3.57 Earth masses, also larger than Earth's. Its mean density is 5.39 g/cm³, 0.977 times Earth's. TOI-512 b completes an orbit every 7.19 days and is classified as a Super-Earth, a size class that reaches 2.5 times Earth's radius.
