TOI-4463 A is a star 565 light-years from Earth, with a mass of 1.06 solar masses and a radius of 1.06 solar radii, slightly larger than the Sun's. Its temperature of 5640 K is cooler than the Sun's, and it is 4.1 billion years old. One planet orbits this host.
That planet, TOI-4463 A b, was discovered in 2023 by the transit method, in which a planet passing in front of its star dims the observed brightness and repeated dips establish the orbital period. This Jupiter-like planet completes an orbit every 2.88 days and is much larger and more massive than Earth, with a radius of 13.3 Earth radii and a mass of 252 Earth masses. Its mean density is 0.596 g/cm³, 0.108 times Earth's.
