TOI-444 b: A Neptune-like World Orbiting a K-type Dwarf

TOI-444 is a K1/2 V star located 187 light-years away. This stellar class is cooler and redder than the Sun. The star has a mass of 0.96 solar masses, a radius of 0.779 solar radii, and a temperature of 5230 K. Its age is 0.57 billion years. The reported radius estimate is smaller than the Sun's, and its temperature is cooler than the Sun's. One planet is known to orbit this host.

TOI-444 b is a Neptune-like planet discovered in 2023 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods. The planet completes one orbit every 18 days, and its radius is 2.77 Earth radii - larger than Earth's. Its size class compares radius with Earth's: a Neptune-like planet reaches 4 times Earth's radius, so TOI-444 b falls within that range, though the classification describes radius rather than composition.

No orbital period is reported for any additional planet, and no further measurements are available for TOI-444 b beyond its period and radius.
