TOI-4214 and Its Jupiter-Like Planet

TOI-4214 is a star 1130 light-years away with an age of 1.1 billion years, a mass of 1.38 solar masses and a radius of 1.43 solar radii. Its reported temperature is 6370 K, hotter than the Sun's, and both its reported mass and radius estimates are larger than the Sun's. One planet orbits this host.

That planet is TOI-4214 b, a Jupiter-like world discovered by transit in 2025. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. The planet's orbital period is 3.49 days, and its radius of 10.7 Earth radii is larger than Earth's; the Jupiter-like class reflects a radius exceeding four times Earth's. Its mass of 165 Earth masses is also larger than Earth's, and its mean density is 0.747 g/cm³, 0.136 times Earth's.
