TOI-4153 b: A Jupiter-Like Planet Around a Hot Star

TOI-4153 is a single star located 1380 light-years away, and it hosts one known planet. The star is 1.57 solar masses, 1.61 solar radii, and 6860 K, making its reported mass and radius larger than the Sun's and its temperature hotter. Its age is 0.4 billion years.

The planet, TOI-4153 b, is a Jupiter-like world discovered by transit in 2024. It completes an orbit in 4.62 days. Its radius is 16.1 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and its mass is 366 Earth masses, also larger than Earth's.

TOI-4153 b's mean density is 0.481 g/cm³, 0.0873 times Earth's. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods.
