TOI-4145 A b: A Giant Planet Around a Cooler Star

TOI-4145 A is a star located 670 light-years away, with one known planet in orbit around it. The host star is 4.7 billion years old and has a mass of 0.905 solar masses, a radius of 0.859 solar radii, and a temperature of 5280 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are both smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

The planet TOI-4145 A b was discovered in 2023 by the transit method, in which a planet passing in front of its star from our viewpoint causes a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods. The planet's orbital period is 4.07 days.

TOI-4145 A b is classified as Jupiter-like, a size class for planets exceeding 4 times Earth's radius. Its radius is 13.3 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and its mass is 137 Earth masses, also larger than Earth's. Its mean density is 0.32 g/cm³, 0.058 times Earth's.
