TOI-4127 b: A Jupiter-Like Planet in a Distant Star System

TOI-4127 is an F-type main-sequence star located 1040 light-years away. It is larger and more massive than the Sun, with 1.23 solar masses and 1.29 solar radii. Its surface temperature is 6100 K, and its age is 4.8 billion years. One planet is known to orbit this star.

That planet, TOI-4127 b, is a Jupiter-like world discovered by the transit method in 2023. The transit method detects the slight dimming of a star as a planet crosses in front of it. TOI-4127 b completes an orbit every 56.4 days. Its radius is 12.1 Earth radii, and its mass is 744 Earth masses, which is roughly 2.34 times Jupiter's mass. Its mean density is 2.33 g/cm³. Both its radius and its mass are larger than Earth's, though it is a gas giant rather than a rocky world.
