TOI-3877: A Distant Star and Its Jupiter-Like Companion

TOI-3877 is a star 1610 light-years away with an age of 5.9 billion years, a mass of 1.16 solar masses, a radius of 1.45 solar radii, and a temperature of 5730 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are both larger than the Sun's. One planet orbits this host.

That planet, TOI-3877 b, is a Jupiter-like world discovered in 2025 by the transit method, in which a planet passing in front of its star from our viewpoint causes a small dip in observed brightness. It has a mass of 99.8 Earth masses, a radius of 11.7 Earth radii, and an orbital period of 4.12 days. Both its reported mass and radius estimates are larger than Earth's, and its radius places it beyond the Jupiter-like threshold of four times Earth's radius. Its mean density is 0.345 g/cm³, 0.0626 times Earth's.
