TOI-3486 is a single-star system 505 light-years away, and it hosts one known planet. The host star TOI-3486 has a mass of 0.837 solar masses and a radius of 0.788 solar radii, making it both less massive and smaller than the Sun. Its temperature of 4930 K is cooler than the Sun's, and it is 5.8 billion years old.
The system's only cataloged planet, TOI-3486 b, is a Jupiter-like world discovered by the transit method in 2025. Transits occur when a planet crosses in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. TOI-3486 b completes an orbit in 2.22 days, so its year is just over two Earth days. Its radius is 10.6 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and its mass is 99.2 Earth masses, also larger than Earth's. That mean density comes to 0.463 g/cm³, which is 0.084 times Earth's.
