TOI-2986 is a star 1840 light-years away. It is 6.3 billion years old, with a mass of 1.12 solar masses and a radius of 1.46 solar radii. Its temperature is 5910 K, hotter than the Sun, and its mass and radius are both larger than the Sun's. One planet has been found orbiting this star.
That planet is TOI-2986 b, discovered in 2025 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. It is a Jupiter-like planet, a class defined by radius exceeding four times Earth's. Its radius is 9.29 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and its mass is 96.6 Earth masses, also larger than Earth's. It completes one orbit every 3.28 days.
TOI-2986 b's mean density is 0.664 g/cm³, 0.12 times Earth's.
