TOI-2886 b: A Giant World on a Fast Orbit

TOI-2886 is a star 1350 light-years away with one known planet. The star is 1.7 billion years old, has a mass of 1.23 solar masses, and a radius of 1.24 solar radii. Its temperature is 6240 K, and its mass, radius, and temperature are all larger or hotter than the Sun's.

The planet TOI-2886 b was discovered in 2025 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star and causes a small dip in brightness. It is classified as Jupiter-like, meaning its radius exceeds four times Earth's radius. Its radius is 18.6 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. Its mass is 445 Earth masses, also larger than Earth's and roughly 1.4 times Jupiter's mass. Its mean density is 0.379 g/cm³, 0.0687 times Earth's. TOI-2886 b orbits its star every 1.6 days.
