TOI-2796 b: A Giant World in a Close Orbit

TOI-2796 is a star 1140 light-years away with a mass of 1.06 solar masses and a radius of 1.07 solar radii, both larger than the Sun's. It is 4 billion years old and has a temperature of 5760 K.

One planet orbits this star. TOI-2796 b was discovered by transit in 2023, the method in which a planet crossing in front of its star dims the observed brightness. The planet completes an orbit every 4.81 days. Its mass is 140 Earth masses, larger than Earth's, and its radius is a reported lower limit of 17.26183028 Earth radii.
