TOI-2570 b: A Giant World in a Swift Orbit

TOI-2570 is a star 1180 light-years from Earth with a single known planet, TOI-2570 b. The star is 4.4 billion years old, has a mass of 1.06 solar masses, a radius of 1.1 solar radii, and a temperature of 5770 K. Its radius estimate is larger than the Sun's.

TOI-2570 b is a Jupiter-like planet, a classification that compares radius with Earth's, where a Jupiter-like planet exceeds 4 times Earth's radius. It was discovered by transit in 2022, when the planet passed in front of its star from our viewpoint and caused a small dip in observed brightness. Its radius is 13.6 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and its mass is 261 Earth masses, also larger than Earth's. Its mean density is 0.566 g/cm³, 0.103 times Earth's.

The planet completes an orbit every 2.99 days.
