TOI-2518 and Its Super-Earth

TOI-2518 is a star 525 light-years from Earth with 1.11 solar masses, 0.993 solar radii, and a temperature of 6020 K, making it slightly more massive than the Sun and hotter than the Sun's reported temperature. One planet orbits this host.

That planet, TOI-2518 b, is a Super-Earth discovered by transit in 2026. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. TOI-2518 b completes one orbit every 6.9 days and has a radius of 2.27 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. As a Super-Earth, its size class reaches 2.5 times Earth's radius.
