TOI-2443: A Nearby K-Type Dwarf with One Super-Earth

TOI-2443 is a K5 V star located 78 light-years away. Its spectral type marks it as an orange dwarf, cooler and smaller than the Sun. The star's reported mass estimate is 0.642 solar masses, its radius estimate is 0.631 solar radii, and its temperature is 4380 K. The star's reported mass, radius, and temperature estimates are all smaller or cooler than the Sun's. TOI-2443 is 7.5 billion years old.

One planet orbits this host: TOI-2443 b, a Super-Earth discovered in 2023 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. The planet's orbital period is 15.7 days. Its radius estimate is 2.36 Earth radii, larger than Earth's and within the Super-Earth size class, which extends to 2.5 times Earth's radius. Its mass is 4.8 Earth masses, larger than Earth's. TOI-2443 b's mean density is 2 g/cm³, 0.364 times Earth's.
