TOI-2373 b: A Giant Planet Orbiting a Star

TOI-2373 is a star 1660 light-years away with one known planet in orbit. The star is 5.9 billion years old and has a mass of 1.04 solar masses and a radius of 1.1 solar radii, both larger than the Sun's corresponding values. Its temperature of 5650 K is cooler than the Sun's.

The planet TOI-2373 b is classified as Jupiter-like, meaning its radius exceeds four times Earth's. It was discovered in 2023 by the transit method, in which a planet crossing in front of its star produces a small dip in observed brightness. The planet's radius is 10.4 Earth radii. Its mass is 2960 Earth masses, roughly 9.3 times Jupiter's mass, and larger than Earth's. Its mean density is 14.4 g/cm³, 2.61 times Earth's. TOI-2373 b completes an orbit every 13.3 days.
