TOI-2260 b: A Super-Earth Around a Sun-Like Star

TOI-2260 is a G V star 330 light-years away. A spectral type such as G V describes a Sun-like main-sequence dwarf, and this one has 0.99 solar masses, 0.94 solar radii, and a temperature of 5530 K. Its radius is smaller than the Sun's, and it is cooler than the Sun. The star's age is 0.321 billion years.

One planet orbits TOI-2260. TOI-2260 b was discovered in 2022 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods, and this planet completes one orbit in 0.352 days. It is classified as a Super-Earth, a size class that reaches 2.5 times Earth's radius. Its radius is 1.62 Earth radii, larger than Earth's.
