TOI-2257 is an M3 red dwarf located 188 light-years away. Its mass is 0.328 solar masses, its radius is 0.313 solar radii, and its temperature is 3430 K. The star's reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's. One planet is known to orbit this host.
That planet, TOI-2257 b, is a Super-Earth discovered by the transit method in 2021. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. TOI-2257 b has an orbital period of 35.2 days and a radius of 2.19 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's. Its size class compares its radius with Earth's: a Super-Earth reaches 2.5 times Earth's radius.
