TOI-2196 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

TOI-2196 is a G V star, a Sun-like main-sequence dwarf, located 848 light-years away. It is 4.5 billion years old and contains 1.03 solar masses within a radius of 1.04 solar radii, with a temperature of 5630 K. Its reported radius estimate is larger than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

One planet orbits this host. TOI-2196 b was discovered by transit in 2022 and is classified as Neptune-like, a size class reaching four times Earth's radius. Its radius estimate is 3.51 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and its mass estimate is 26 Earth masses, also larger than Earth's. The planet completes an orbit in 1.19 days. Its mean density is 3.31 g/cm³, 0.601 times Earth's.
