TOI-2152: A Hot Star with a Jupiter-like Planet

TOI-2152 is a star 988 light-years away with a spectral type of F4 V, meaning it is a main-sequence dwarf hotter and whiter than the Sun. Its mass is 1.52 solar masses, its radius is 1.61 solar radii, and its temperature is 6630 K, all larger or hotter than the corresponding solar values. The star is 0.83 billion years old and it hosts exactly one known planet.

That planet, TOI-2152 A b, was discovered in 2023 by the transit method, in which a planet passing in front of its star slightly dims the observed brightness. It is a Jupiter-like planet, a size class defined by a radius exceeding four times Earth's. Its radius is 14.4 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and its mass is 899 Earth masses, also larger than Earth's and roughly 2.83 times Jupiter's mass. Its mean density is 1.67 g/cm³, or 0.304 times Earth's. TOI-2152 A b orbits its star every 3.38 days.
